What is Awana?

Awana is a international, nondenominatinal, Bible-centered youth organization providing weekly clubs and programs for Preschool through High School during the school year. The word Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. The word of God is learned by understanding and memorizing scripture, activities, games, service, and missions. Clubbers earn awards as they memorize the word of God. We participate in many Awana regional activities, e.g., Sparks-A-Rama, Awana Games, Bible Quizzing, and Varsity and Scholarship Camp.

When & Where?

Kindergarten through 6th Grade meets Wednesday nights from 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm in the Family Life Center at Emmanuel Christian School. Contact Our Awana Commander Scott Anderson for any questions. Come out and join us.

September 30	VIP Night / Team Color Night - Bring your Very Important Parents to Club and show your team colors.
October 7	Can Food Drive Night - Bring a can food items for Church Pantry
October 14	Wacky Hair Night - Style your hair (most unusual hairstyles)
October 21	Cookie Monster Night - Earn cookie shares
October 28	Pajama Jam Night - Wear your jammies (pillows & blankets ok)
November 4	Layered Look Night - Wear many layers of clothes
November 11	Awana Store - Bring your Awana shares.
November 18	Animal Kingdom - Bring your favorite stuffed animal
November 25	Thanksgiving Break - No Awana
December 2	Silent (SHHH) Night - Talking prohibited except for verses only wispering only
December 9	Black Out/Lights Out Night - Bring Flashlights/Lights Out
December 16	Happy Birthday Jesus - Earn candy cane shares
December 23	Christmas Break - No Awana
December 30	Christmas Break - No Awana
January 6	Beat the Clock Night - On your mark, get set, and ..... Club meeting centered around the concept of time.
January 13	Thgin Sdrawkcab - If you can figure this out - You earn a share. Ask leader for help. Hint: Read it in a mirror
January 20	Picture Night - Smile! You are on candid camera. Club Group Pictures will be taken (look Neat)
January 27	Crazy Hat Night - Wear a crazy hat
February 3	Sports Team Night - Wear your favorite team’s shirt
February 10	Life Savior Night - Earn Life Saver shares
February 17	Gifts of Love Night - Special Valentine Event
February 24	Awana Store Night - Bring your Awana Shares
March 3	Inside Out Night - Wear everything inside/out
March 10	Balloon Blast Night - Balloon games & counsel message.
March 17	Chew-Chew Night - Earn bubble gum shares
March 24	Measles Night - Give your leader the measles. For each section, place a round red sticker on his/her face.
March 31	Easter Break - No Awana
April 7	Egg-stravaganza - Easter Special Event (bring hard-boiled eggs). Earn chocolate egg shares
April 14	Candy Kiss Night - Earn candy kiss shares
April 21	Crazy Shoe - Wear wacky & crazy shoes
April 28	BIG Night - Everything BIG. Use Pillows for bean bags, brooms for batons etc.
May 5	I 'Scream' Night - Earn Ice Cream Shares
May 12	Button Night - Wear many buttons and bows
May 19	Fruity Night - Fruit reminders of Award's night
May 26	Get Wet Night - Wear clothing to get wet.
June 2	Award Ceremony - Dress in your full uniform. Awana Store immediately following ceremony.
